Copyleft-licensed application libraries are not statically linked into
this product. Optional FFmpeg is an external shared-library sidecar only.

### Steamworks SDK (Steam build only)

`steamworks.js` (MIT, https://github.com/ceifa/steamworks.js) is a native
binding used to call the Valve Steamworks API (achievements, rich presence,
etc.) from the Electron main process. The binding code itself is MIT, but it
wraps the **Valve Steamworks SDK**, which is not open source: distributing a
product that links the SDK requires the developer to be a registered
Steamworks partner under Valve's
[SDK Access Agreement](https://partner.steamgames.com/documentation/sdk_access_agreement)
(a nonexclusive, royalty-free, terminable license to reproduce and
redistribute the SDK's `redistributable_bin` binaries, granted only to
signed partners — not a generally redistributable open license). This
product is built and published through a registered Steamworks partner
account; the SDK Access Agreement terms apply to that distribution, separate
from the MIT terms on the JS binding layer. Steam-specific integration is
**not** present in non-Steam builds of this product.

The cursor-buddy overlay uses three.js plus React Three Fiber and
@react-three/drei (all MIT). Three.js `examples/jsm` loaders such as
GLTFLoader, and the `examples/jsm/environments/RoomEnvironment` used to
light PBR buddy skins, are the same MIT license as three — no separate
attribution needed. **gltfjsx** is a local CLI (`npm run buddy:gltfjsx`) for
inspecting bundled GLBs during development and is **not** included in the
Steam / Electron package.

### Cursor buddy characters

A cursor-buddy 3D character "pig" (`public/buddy/glb/pig.glb`) is bundled as
of 2026-08-24 — a different file from the earlier Meshy-generated "pig"
(bundled 2026-08-23–2026-08-24, removed the same day). **This new file's
provenance has not yet been documented** — see `legal/MESHY-ASSET-NOTICE.md`
for the pending-confirmation notice; fill in the actual creation method
(self-modeled, AI tool, commission, etc.) there before commercial
distribution. The earlier Meshy 3D golden hamster and its clip GLBs were
removed and are **not** shipped. There is no user 3D import.

### MediaPipe Tasks Vision (optional camera buddy)

`@mediapipe/tasks-vision` 0.10.21 (Apache-2.0) runs **on this PC only** when
the cursor buddy is in camera mode. WASM ships in `mediapipe/wasm/`. Pose and
face landmarker `.task` files are downloaded on first use from Google’s
MediaPipe model host and are not uploaded with user video. Faces never leave
the device.

### Pinned model revisions (모델 리비전 고정)

Optional on-device models are downloaded from Hugging Face at a fixed commit,
so a shipped build cannot silently pick up different weights or a changed
license from the repository's `main` branch. Licenses verified 2026-08-12.

| Model | Repository | Pinned commit | License |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Whisper tiny (auto captions) | Xenova/whisper-tiny | 5332fcc35e32a33b86612b9a57a89be7906102b1 | Apache-2.0 (OpenAI weights MIT) |
| BEN2 (background removal) | onnx-community/BEN2-ONNX | c552aa82688edce09f0ac9d2e31ad53d9d629010 | MIT (upstream PramaLLC/BEN2 also MIT) |
| SAM 2 hiera-tiny (object cutout) | SharpAI/sam2-hiera-tiny-onnx | 2b467a10bfd7d49ba5fe6a00fbee4351f0b1a739 | Apache-2.0 (Hub field `license: apache-2.0`, 2026-08-15; upstream facebookresearch/sam2) |

FFmpeg.wasm / `@ffmpeg/core` is **not** used. WebM export still uses
WebCodecs VP9 + Opus muxed by Mediabunny (MPL-2.0). MP4 export uses an
**external FFmpeg process** (shared libraries, never statically linked)
with hardware H.264 encoders or Cisco OpenH264, plus FFmpeg’s built-in
AAC. See `build/ffmpeg-build-notes.md` and `legal/THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md`.
Legacy user-owned MP4 sources remain readable through browser/OS decoders.

The WebM Project offers VP9 and Opus under open/no-charge terms and publishes
patent grants. As its official FAQ notes, no open codec can guarantee that an
unaffiliated third party will never assert a patent claim. This product does
not represent that patent risk is literally zero.

Hardware H.264 (NVENC / Quick Sync / AMF) is invoked through vendor drivers
already on the user’s PC. This product does not bundle those drivers.
H.264/AVC patent-licensing obligations may vary by the user’s environment.
This software follows common industry practice of using encoders provided
by the OS and hardware. This is not a representation that patent risk is
zero, and it is not legal advice. Cisco’s BINARY_LICENSE MPEG-LA language
applies only to Cisco’s official OpenH264 binary, not to hardware encode.

For export mixes, audio is decoded with the Web Audio API when practical.
Large video files may demux their audio track via Mediabunny (same MPL-2.0
dependency already listed above) before mixing.

Voice tone presets (cinematic / podcast / radio) use only the Web Audio API
(BiquadFilter, DynamicsCompressor, Delay, Convolver) with **first-party
synthetic impulse responses** generated at runtime. No third-party measured
IR libraries (OpenAIR, commercial IR packs, etc.) are bundled.

Image enter/exit motion sound effects (whoosh / pop / thud / softClick) are
**first-party procedural PCM** synthesized at runtime with the Web Audio API
(deterministic PRNG + oscillators / filtered noise). No third-party SFX sample
packs or recorded libraries are bundled. These sounds may be used in exported
videos for commercial purposes along with this product.

Automatic captions use **OpenAI Whisper** original model weights (MIT,
Copyright (c) 2022 OpenAI) via the **Xenova/whisper-tiny** ONNX conversion
(currently marked Apache-2.0 on its model card), **Transformers.js**
(Apache-2.0), and **ONNX Runtime Web** (Microsoft MIT). Inference runs locally.
Model weights may be
downloaded once from Hugging Face and cached in the browser; the ORT WASM
runtime is copied into `public/ort/` at build time so remote executable code
is not fetched at runtime. This product does **not** call the paid OpenAI API
for captions and does not upload user audio to developer servers.
Keep the MIT copyright notice when redistributing Whisper-related materials.

**Background removal** uses **BEN2** (Background Erase Network) ONNX weights via
Transformers.js (`onnx-community/BEN2-ONNX`, MIT on the Hub card; upstream open
Base `PramaLLC/BEN2`). Inference runs locally; images are not uploaded to
developer servers. Model weights may download once from Hugging Face
and cache in the browser; ORT WASM stays bundled under `ort/`. This product does
**not** use BRIA RMBG (which requires a separate commercial license for commercial
products) and does not ship Prama’s separate paid commercial tier beyond the open
MIT Base weights. Keep the MIT notice when redistributing BEN2-related materials.

Noise reduction (“잡음 줄이기”) is **first-party spectral processing**
(STFT + quiet-frame noise-floor estimate + soft spectral subtraction) written
for this product and run in a local Web Worker. It does **not** bundle
RNNoise, DeepFilterNet, or any third-party neural/ML weights.

**Pixabay stock search** is optional. Searches are user-initiated and are
relayed through the developer's backend service, which holds the application's
approved Pixabay API access; no Pixabay key ships in the app. Imported media is
downloaded to local IndexedDB (no permanent hotlinking). Attribution is shown
in the UI. Users remain responsible for the Pixabay Content License and API
terms. Pixabay content is **not** redistributed inside the app package.

**Auto captions, background removal, and object pick** run on-device.
Whisper / BEN2 / SAM 2 weights download from Hugging Face on first use;
inference stays on this PC.

**Cloud AI features** (image/sticker/scene-plate generation, scene captions,
translation, pronunciation review, and TTS narration) are optional, consume
prepaid AI credits purchased through Steam, and are served by Google's Gemini
API via the developer's backend. The app never embeds a Google API key and
never calls Google directly; only the content you submit for a request is sent.
Google's Generative AI terms apply to generated output. Voice cloning is not
implemented (preset voices only). The ElevenLabs API is not used.

### Apache-2.0 build modification notice

The production build removes remote ORT CDN defaults from Transformers.js /
ONNX Runtime integration and points the runtime to the app-bundled local
`ort/` files ships with the app so model runtimes stay local. The complete Apache
License 2.0 is distributed as `legal/APACHE-2.0.txt`.

### MPL-2.0 source availability notice (Mediabunny)

Mediabunny is licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.
This product uses Mediabunny in unmodified form. In accordance with
MPL-2.0 §3.2, the complete Source Code Form of Mediabunny is available at:

### Fonts (SIL Open Font License 1.1 + Apache-2.0)

Most bundled fonts are SIL OFL 1.1. Permanent Marker is Apache License 2.0.
All may be used in app UI and burned into exported/rendered video frames,
including for commercial use. OFL font files may not be sold by themselves.
Keep the copyright and license notices shipped with this app
(`legal/FONTS-LICENSE.txt`, this document). Full OFL 1.1 text is in
Appendix D below; the full Apache-2.0 text is in
`legal/APACHE-2.0.txt`.

## 2. Build-time / development-only tools (배포 패키지에 미포함)

The following are used only to build this software and are **not**
distributed with the app package. They impose no distribution
obligations on the shipped product:

- vite (MIT), @vitejs/plugin-react (MIT), @crxjs/vite-plugin (MIT),
  rolldown (MIT), typescript (Apache-2.0), oxlint (MIT)
- lightningcss (MPL-2.0) — CSS build tool only, not bundled
- sharp (Apache-2.0; prebuilt binaries include libvips components under
  LGPL-3.0-or-later) — used only by local asset-generation scripts
  (`scripts/*.mjs`), never distributed
- TypeScript type packages (`@types/*`, MIT) — types only, no runtime code

---

## 3. Bundled first-party assets (자체 제작 에셋)

- Extension / store icons (`icons/*.png`) — original artwork generated
  from first-party SVG via `scripts/generate-store-icon.mjs`.

See `ASSETS_LICENSES.md` in the project repository for the full asset
inventory.

    ownership of such entity.

2. License Grants and Conditions
--------------------------------

2.1. Grants

Each Contributor hereby grants You a world-wide, royalty-free,
non-exclusive license:

(a) under intellectual property rights (other than patent or trademark)
    Licensable by such Contributor to use, reproduce, make available,
    modify, display, perform, distribute, and otherwise exploit its
    Contributions, either on an unmodified basis, with Modifications, or
    as part of a Larger Work; and

(b) under Patent Claims of such Contributor to make, use, sell, offer
    for sale, have made, import, and otherwise transfer either its
    Contributions or its Contributor Version.

2.2. Effective Date

The licenses granted in Section 2.1 with respect to any Contribution
become effective for each Contribution on the date the Contributor first
distributes such Contribution.

2.3. Limitations on Grant Scope

The licenses granted in this Section 2 are the only rights granted under
this License. No additional rights or licenses will be implied from the
distribution or licensing of Covered Software under this License.
Notwithstanding Section 2.1(b) above, no patent license is granted by a
Contributor:

(a) for any code that a Contributor has removed from Covered Software;
    or

(b) for infringements caused by: (i) Your and any other third party's
    modifications of Covered Software, or (ii) the combination of its
    Contributions with other software (except as part of its Contributor
    Version); or

(c) under Patent Claims infringed by Covered Software in the absence of
    its Contributions.

This License does not grant any rights in the trademarks, service marks,
or logos of any Contributor (except as may be necessary to comply with
the notice requirements in Section 3.4).

2.4. Subsequent Licenses

No Contributor makes additional grants as a result of Your choice to
distribute the Covered Software under a subsequent version of this
License (see Section 10.2) or under the terms of a Secondary License (if
permitted under the terms of Section 3.3).

2.5. Representation

Each Contributor represents that the Contributor believes its
Contributions are its original creation(s) or it has sufficient rights
to grant the rights to its Contributions conveyed by this License.

2.6. Fair Use

This License is not intended to limit any rights You have under
applicable copyright doctrines of fair use, fair dealing, or other
equivalents.

2.7. Conditions

Sections 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4 are conditions of the licenses granted
in Section 2.1.

3. Responsibilities
-------------------

3.1. Distribution of Source Form

All distribution of Covered Software in Source Code Form, including any
Modifications that You create or to which You contribute, must be under
the terms of this License. You must inform recipients that the Source
Code Form of the Covered Software is governed by the terms of this
License, and how they can obtain a copy of this License. You may not
attempt to alter or restrict the recipients' rights in the Source Code
Form.

3.2. Distribution of Executable Form

If You distribute Covered Software in Executable Form then:

(a) such Covered Software must also be made available in Source Code
    Form, as described in Section 3.1, and You must inform recipients of
    the Executable Form how they can obtain a copy of such Source Code
    Form by reasonable means in a timely manner, at a charge no more
    than the cost of distribution to the recipient; and

(b) You may distribute such Executable Form under the terms of this
    License, or sublicense it under different terms, provided that the
    license for the Executable Form does not attempt to limit or alter
    the recipients' rights in the Source Code Form under this License.

3.3. Distribution of a Larger Work

You may create and distribute a Larger Work under terms of Your choice,
provided that You also comply with the requirements of this License for
the Covered Software. If the Larger Work is a combination of Covered
Software with a work governed by one or more Secondary Licenses, and the
Covered Software is not Incompatible With Secondary Licenses, this
License permits You to additionally distribute such Covered Software
under the terms of such Secondary License(s), so that the recipient of
the Larger Work may, at their option, further distribute the Covered
Software under the terms of either this License or such Secondary
License(s).

3.4. Notices

You may not remove or alter the substance of any license notices
(including copyright notices, patent notices, disclaimers of warranty,
or limitations of liability) contained within the Source Code Form of
the Covered Software, except that You may alter any license notices to
the extent required to remedy known factual inaccuracies.

3.5. Application of Additional Terms

You may choose to offer, and to charge a fee for, warranty, support,
indemnity or liability obligations to one or more recipients of Covered
Software. However, You may do so only on Your own behalf, and not on
behalf of any Contributor. You must make it absolutely clear that any
such warranty, support, indemnity, or liability obligation is offered by
You alone, and You hereby agree to indemnify every Contributor for any
liability incurred by such Contributor as a result of warranty, support,
indemnity or liability terms You offer. You may include additional
disclaimers of warranty and limitations of liability specific to any
jurisdiction.

4. Inability to Comply Due to Statute or Regulation
---------------------------------------------------

If it is impossible for You to comply with any of the terms of this
License with respect to some or all of the Covered Software due to
statute, judicial order, or regulation then You must: (a) comply with
the terms of this License to the maximum extent possible; and (b)
describe the limitations and the code they affect. Such description must
be placed in a text file included with all distributions of the Covered
Software under this License. Except to the extent prohibited by statute
or regulation, such description must be sufficiently detailed for a
recipient of ordinary skill to be able to understand it.

5. Termination
--------------

5.1. The rights granted under this License will terminate automatically
if You fail to comply with any of its terms. However, if You become
compliant, then the rights granted under this License from a particular
Contributor are reinstated (a) provisionally, unless and until such
Contributor explicitly and finally terminates Your grants, and (b) on an
ongoing basis, if such Contributor fails to notify You of the
non-compliance by some reasonable means prior to 60 days after You have
come back into compliance. Moreover, Your grants from a particular
Contributor are reinstated on an ongoing basis if such Contributor
notifies You of the non-compliance by some reasonable means, this is the
first time You have received notice of non-compliance with this License
from such Contributor, and You become compliant prior to 30 days after
Your receipt of the notice.

5.2. If You initiate litigation against any entity by asserting a patent
infringement claim (excluding declaratory judgment actions,
counter-claims, and cross-claims) alleging that a Contributor Version
directly or indirectly infringes any patent, then the rights granted to
You by any and all Contributors for the Covered Software under Section
2.1 of this License shall terminate.

5.3. In the event of termination under Sections 5.1 or 5.2 above, all
end user license agreements (excluding distributors and resellers) which
have been validly granted by You or Your distributors under this License
prior to termination shall survive termination.

*  --------------------------                                          *
*                                                                      *
* Under no circumstances and under no legal theory, whether tort *
* (including negligence), contract, or otherwise, shall any *
* Contributor, or anyone who distributes Covered Software as *
* permitted above, be liable to You for any direct, indirect, *
* special, incidental, or consequential damages of any character *
* including, without limitation, damages for lost profits, loss of *
* goodwill, work stoppage, computer failure or malfunction, or any *
* and all other commercial damages or losses, even if such party *
* shall have been informed of the possibility of such damages. This *
* limitation of liability shall not apply to liability for death or *
* personal injury resulting from such party's negligence to the *
* extent applicable law prohibits such limitation. Some *
* jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of *
* incidental or consequential damages, so this exclusion and *
* limitation may not apply to You. *
*                                                                      *

8. Litigation
-------------

Any litigation relating to this License may be brought only in the
courts of a jurisdiction where the defendant maintains its principal
place of business and such litigation shall be governed by laws of that
jurisdiction, without reference to its conflict-of-law provisions.
Nothing in this Section shall prevent a party's ability to bring
cross-claims or counter-claims.

9. Miscellaneous
----------------

This License represents the complete agreement concerning the subject
matter hereof. If any provision of this License is held to be
unenforceable, such provision shall be reformed only to the extent
necessary to make it enforceable. Any law or regulation which provides
that the language of a contract shall be construed against the drafter
shall not be used to construe this License against a Contributor.

10. Versions of the License
---------------------------

10.1. New Versions

Mozilla Foundation is the license steward. Except as provided in Section
10.3, no one other than the license steward has the right to modify or
publish new versions of this License. Each version will be given a
distinguishing version number.

10.2. Effect of New Versions

You may distribute the Covered Software under the terms of the version
of the License under which You originally received the Covered Software,
or under the terms of any subsequent version published by the license
steward.

10.3. Modified Versions

If you create software not governed by this License, and you want to
create a new license for such software, you may create and use a
modified version of this License if you rename the license and remove
any references to the name of the license steward (except to note that
such modified license differs from this License).

10.4. Distributing Source Code Form that is Incompatible With Secondary
Licenses

If You choose to distribute Source Code Form that is Incompatible With
Secondary Licenses under the terms of this version of the License, the
notice described in Exhibit B of this License must be attached.

for such a notice.

You may add additional accurate notices of copyright ownership.

## Appendix D — SIL Open Font License 1.1 (bundled fonts)

```text
Google Inc.
This Font Software is licensed under the SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1.
This license is copied below, and is also available with a FAQ at:
http://scripts.sil.org/OFL
-----------------------------------------------------------
SIL OPEN FONT LICENSE Version 1.1 - 26 February 2007
-----------------------------------------------------------
PREAMBLE
The goals of the Open Font License (OFL) are to stimulate worldwide
development of collaborative font projects, to support the font creation
efforts of academic and linguistic communities, and to provide a free and
open framework in which fonts may be shared and improved in partnership
with others.
The OFL allows the licensed fonts to be used, studied, modified and
redistributed freely as long as they are not sold by themselves. The
fonts, including any derivative works, can be bundled, embedded,
redistributed and/or sold with any software provided that any reserved
names are not used by derivative works. The fonts and derivatives,
however, cannot be released under any other type of license. The
requirement for fonts to remain under this license does not apply
to any document created using the fonts or their derivatives.
DEFINITIONS
"Font Software" refers to the set of files released by the Copyright
Holder(s) under this license and clearly marked as such. This may
include source files, build scripts and documentation.
"Reserved Font Name" refers to any names specified as such after the
copyright statement(s).
"Original Version" refers to the collection of Font Software components as
distributed by the Copyright Holder(s).
"Modified Version" refers to any derivative made by adding to, deleting,
or substituting -- in part or in whole -- any of the components of the
Original Version, by changing formats or by porting the Font Software to a
new environment.
"Author" refers to any designer, engineer, programmer, technical
writer or other person who contributed to the Font Software.
PERMISSION & CONDITIONS
Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining
a copy of the Font Software, to use, study, copy, merge, embed, modify,
redistribute, and sell modified and unmodified copies of the Font
Software, subject to the following conditions:
1) Neither the Font Software nor any of its individual components,
in Original or Modified Versions, may be sold by itself.
2) Original or Modified Versions of the Font Software may be bundled,
redistributed and/or sold with any software, provided that each copy
contains the above copyright notice and this license. These can be
included either as stand-alone text files, human-readable headers or
in the appropriate machine-readable metadata fields within text or
binary files as long as those fields can be easily viewed by the user.
3) No Modified Version of the Font Software may use the Reserved Font
Name(s) unless explicit written permission is granted by the corresponding
Copyright Holder. This restriction only applies to the primary font name as
presented to the users.
4) The name(s) of the Copyright Holder(s) or the Author(s) of the Font
Software shall not be used to promote, endorse or advertise any
Modified Version, except to acknowledge the contribution(s) of the
Copyright Holder(s) and the Author(s) or with their explicit written
permission.
5) The Font Software, modified or unmodified, in part or in whole,
must be distributed entirely under this license, and must not be
distributed under any other license. The requirement for fonts to
remain under this license does not apply to any document created
using the Font Software.
TERMINATION
This license becomes null and void if any of the above conditions are
not met.
DISCLAIMER
THE FONT SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND,
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT
OF COPYRIGHT, PATENT, TRADEMARK, OR OTHER RIGHT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE
COPYRIGHT HOLDER BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY,
INCLUDING ANY GENERAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING
FROM, OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE FONT SOFTWARE OR FROM
OTHER DEALINGS IN THE FONT SOFTWARE.
## Appendix F — Apache License 2.0 component notice
`@huggingface/transformers` (Transformers.js), the Xenova Whisper ONNX
conversion/package metadata, Permanent Marker, Meta SAM 2 model
checkpoints (and the SharpAI/sam2-hiera-tiny-onnx ONNX conversion used here), and
Apache-licensed code retained inside upstream runtime bundles are covered by
Apache License 2.0.
The complete unmodified license text is included in this distribution at
`legal/APACHE-2.0.txt`.
**Not used:** BRIA RMBG / RMBG-1.4 / RMBG-2.0 — those weights are under BRIA’s
source-available / non-commercial terms unless a separate commercial agreement
is obtained. This product intentionally avoids them.
### Meta SAM 2 (optional — object click segmentation)
Prompt-generate object picking uses **Meta Segment Anything Model 2**
weights converted to ONNX (`SharpAI/sam2-hiera-tiny-onnx`). Hub License field
verified 2026-08-15: README YAML `license: apache-2.0`; API `cardData.license`
`"apache-2.0"`. Pinned commit `2b467a10bfd7d49ba5fe6a00fbee4351f0b1a739`.
Per Meta’s official release:
- Model checkpoints, demo code, and training code: **Apache License 2.0**
  ([LICENSE](https://github.com/facebookresearch/sam2/blob/main/LICENSE),
  [README](https://github.com/facebookresearch/sam2/blob/main/README.md)).
- Full Apache-2.0 text in this distribution: `legal/APACHE-2.0.txt`.
- Inference runs **locally** in the Steam desktop app (ONNX Runtime Web /
  Transformers.js). User frames are not uploaded to Strange Video Editor servers.
- First use may download weights from Hugging Face (data/weights only; ORT WASM
  is bundled under `ort/`).
- The **SA-V training dataset** is **not** redistributed with this app
  (SA-V is separately licensed CC BY 4.0).
- Demo fonts from the SAM 2 web demo (Inter / Noto Color Emoji OFL) are **not**
  bundled for this feature.
- This product is **not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta**.
Keep Apache attribution notices when redistributing SAM 2-related materials.
